Description:

All newly hired employees, within 90 days of hire and as a condition of continued employment, are required to complete the 45 minute, online Terrorism and Security Awareness orientation course and quiz created by JMU’s Office of Human Resources and the Department of Human Resource Management (DHRM).

JMU has a responsibility to provide training and resources to enable university employees to be more personally and professionally security-conscious while continuing to provide the highest quality customer service.

During this course, you will learn about:

  •  What terrorism is and why it exists
  • An understanding of the different types of terrorist threats
  • How to reduce the risk of becoming a victim of crime and/or terrorism
  • How to report and respond to suspicious conditions and situations
