Wilson Workforce and Rehabilitation Center (WWRC) provides people with disabilities comprehensive, individualized services to realize optimal personal independence and employment. We are seeking someone to assist in the creation and implementation of a safe living and learning, residential environment for participating PERT students within an educational/rehabilitation developmental framework that promotes positive self-esteem and growth in social/independent living skills. This is achieved through the coordination and programming of dorm resources for youth with disabilities and by assisting the PERT Therapist with assessment of student needs and the shared coordination and programming of recreation/leisure skill resources. Additional duties include ability to accurately document observed behaviors, findings and recommendations. This position works a combination of day and evening, on a rotating basis, dependent on when PERT participants are on campus and in consideration of identified resource and coverage needs.

This has been designated a sensitive position under Va. Code § 2.2-1201.1. A fingerprint-based criminal history check will be required of the finalist candidate. This position is designated to provide first aid, CPR and AED only as a collateral duty to routine work assignments, responding solely to injuries resulting from workplace incidents, generally at the location where the incident occurred, until emergency personnel arrive on the scene. The incumbent understands that pre-exposure hepatitis B vaccination is not being provided, but that post-exposure hepatitis B vaccination will be provided and s/he will complete annual blood borne pathogens training in accordance with the OSHA standard. Preferred Qualifications: Training in principles and techniques of residential programming and/or behavior intervention techniques.

Specific hours
This position works primarily from 4 PM to 12. Virtual instruction hours may also be available during the day. This position works all year and is only off for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
