Duties:

Provide excellent customer service to any and all patrons calling and/or visiting the establishment. Check in customers by registering and assigning rooms to guests, issuing room key cards, transmitting and receiving messages, keeping records of occupied rooms and guests' accounts, making and confirming reservations, and presenting statements to and collecting payments. Additional duties to be performed as assigned. This position reports to Property Manager. 

Requirements:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This work requires the regular exertion of up to 5 to 10 pounds of force, frequent exertion of up to 25 pounds of force and occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds of force; work regularly requires walking and speaking or hearing, frequently standing, and sitting.  

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Regular, reliable attendance necessary.
  • Conduct self in a professional manner at all times with patrons and co-workers.
  • Must be able maintain a clean appearance and wear assigned/approved attire with name tags.
  • Greet, register, and assign guestrooms; Verify credit transactions and post payments; Keep accurate records to keep accurate track of guestrooms rented; Issue keys and provide directions to rooms; Answer all phone calls promptly.
  • Receive public and answers questions, in person and by telephone; responds to inquiries from employees, citizens and others; Follow sales oriented process to book reservations.
  • Prep and provide coffee service based on brand standards.
  • Record and respond to guest comments as per training; Review all guest comments with Property Manager to ensure proper handling and to improve service for future.
  • Be knowledgeable of the area in order to answer inquiries about hotel, services, and travel directions, or make recommendations regarding shopping, dining, or area attractions.
  • Must be able to maintain restricted information of proprietary information and ensures safety of company assets.
  • Documenting and communicating with Property Manager and Maintenance Technician specific deficiencies regarding hotel, building, grounds, guestrooms, furniture, and fixtures in a timely manner;
  • Must be able to anticipate/acknowledge stock needs at front desk for guest services (i.e. extra pillows, towels, etc.)
  • Must be able to maintain a clean and organized lobby, entrance foyer, breakfast area and exterior of building; curb appeal is very important.
  • Utilize computer systems and office equipment in order to perform daily tasks.
  • Engage in flexible work schedules to be able to perform well during emergencies, including staying on property.
  • Performs related tasks as required and duties as assigned by Property Manager and/or Ownership.

Education and Experience:

  • Any related experience (personal or professional)
  • An understanding of the importance sanitary guestrooms
  • Pleasant demeanor with ability to smile.
  • Ability to handle themselves with a high degree of tolerance, diplomacy, and tact.
  • Ability to kneel, bend, carry, walk, stoop, climb, and lift items, in addition to possessing manual skills.
  • Commendable ability to manage stressful working situations.
  • MUST BE AVAILABLE NIGHTS, WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS
