Description

Duties:

◉ Complete intake and/or discharge assessments daily as needed.

◉ Conduct urine drug screens (all genders) and alcohol breathalyzer tests.

◉ Perform administrative tasks such as answering phones, making copies, filing, etc.

◉ Prepare and/or supervise dinner and continental breakfast if volunteers are unavailable.

◉ Perform light housekeeping duties as needed, i.e. laundry, trash removal, organizing.

◉ Monitor residents' activities while at the shelter for safety and support.

◉ Mediate conflicts between residents.

◉ Enforce shelter rules such as a substance-free facility, curfew, daily chores, etc.

◉ Maintain documentation as directed by the Shelter Program Manager.

◉ Perform other duties as determined by the Shelter Program Manager to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the shelter and in accordance with the Salvation Army's mission.

Requirements: 

◉ High school diploma or GED

◉ Ability to meet attendance requirements

◉ Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language

◉ Ability to lift light objects weighing less than 24 pounds

◉ Knowledge of issues related to homelessness including trauma, mental health disorders and substance use disorders are helpful.

◉ Skills in conflict resolution and crisis intervention are a plus.

$10.20/hr

Hours per week
8-24 or as needed

Specific hours
2nd shift: 4 pm - 12 am; 3rd shift: 12 am - 8 am
