The National Center for Preservation Technology and Training, through the National Park Services is accepting proposals for the Preservation Technology and Training Grant due January 4, 2018. This program provides funding for innovative research that develops new technologies or adapts existing technologies to preserve cultural resources. Grants will support Innovative research that develops new technologies or adapts existing technologies to preserve cultural resources ($25,000 to $40,000), specialized workshops or symposia that identify and address national preservation needs ($15,000 to $25,000), and/or how-to videos, mobile applications, podcasts, best practices publications, or webinars that disseminate practical preservation methods or provide better tools for preservation practice ($5,000 to $15,000).

The National Center for Preservation Technology and Training is requesting proposal that focus on climate change impacts, disaster planning and response, modeling and managing big data, innovative techniques for documentation, and protective coatings and treatments. Additionally, several disciplinary areas are eligible for funding including archeology, architecture, collections management, engineering, historic landscapes, and materials conservation.
