Deadline: February 7, 2018

Agency/Sponsor: VentureWell

VentureWell is accepting applications for their E-Team Grant Program to give student teams the best possible chance to move technologies out of the lab or classroom and into the marketplace. This grant is intended for teams of student inventors and entrepreneurs and provides funding, immersive workshops, and specialized coaching to student STEM innovators to help them move their inventions into the marketplace. This program typically funds physical or engineered products such as medical or healthcare-related devices; products to aid in poverty alleviation or address basic human needs; and clean/green technologies.

To enter the E-Team Program, all teams must apply first for Stage 1. Acceptance into Stage 1 does not guarantee acceptance into subsequent stages. The program is competitive and requires an application at each stage.

  •  The Stage 1 workshop focuses on market validation: teams come out of the workshop with the ability to better describe the market or markets they have identified, articulate the value of their innovation in that specific market, and assess how their competitive position impacts further product development.
  •  The Stage 2 workshop teaches teams how to develop and validate a business model. Following the Stage 2 workshop, E-Teams will receive tactical coaching from VentureWell to guide them towards successful validation of their business model and completion of key milestones.

Funding – up to $25,000 ($5,000 in Stage 1 and $20,000 in Stage 2)
