The Department of State, Public Diplomacy Programs is accepting applications to promote the development of English language, classroom pedagogy, community engagement and leadership skills of the participants through first-hand experience and networking with English language teaching peers in the United States. Through teamwork activities, the program will develop participants’ classroom, leadership, communication skills, and teacher trainer skills.


  1.  Strengthen ties between the United States and Pakistan to increase understanding through educational exchanges and English language instruction that shares information, experiences, and expertise.

  2. Strengthen Local Partners by building capacity in academia and civil society and fostering private-sector cooperation for local Pakistan-based organizations that are able to access regions of Pakistan not available to U.S. Mission employees and attract audiences that may otherwise not participate in U.S. Embassy programs.


All U.S. and Pakistani registered non-profit, non-governmental organizations with relevant programming experience are eligible to apply. This experience should be documented in the organization’s proposal. Organizations must provide proof of registration and non-profit status with their proposal application. U.S.-based organizations should submit a copy of their IRS determination letter. Pakistan-based organizations should submit a copy of their certificate of registration from the appropriate government organization. Applicants may only submit two proposals, one for $500,000 and on for $1,000,000.
