The American Battlefield Protection Program (ABPP) of the National Park Service invites applications for the 2017 Battlefield Planning Grants. The purpose of this grant program is to provide seed money for projects that lead directly to the identification, preservation and interpretation of battlefield land and/or historic sites associated with battlefields. Projects that involve multiple stakeholders are given preference.

Funding: up to $150,000
Individual project funding has ranged from $5,000 to more than $80,000; the average grant is $32,000. The ABPP encourages, but does not require, matching funds or in-kind services to these projects.
