Paige Normand serves the university by giving students and faculty the tools to foster ethical, meaningful, and innovative digital composition. She has over a decade of experience with university teaching and one-on-one consulting.
Ms. Normand is the founder and coordinator of JMU’s Digital Communication Consulting, where she trains undergraduate tutors to be effectively embedded in courses across campus, ranging from Engineering to Education and from first year General Education classes to 400-level coursework. The DigiComm program helps JMU students develop skills to produce more sophisticated and professional online content that extend beyond the classroom. Her team emphasizes collaboration and teamwork through partnerships with faculty across campus, one-on-one peer consultations, and workshops.
Ms. Normand teaches in the Converged Concentration in SMAD and teaches a cross-listed tutor training course for the Learning Centers to prepare students to become DigiComm Consultants.
Her interests include: professional portfolios, project management strategies, mentoring her team of tutors, and helping students and faculty across the university implement digital assignments. You can follow her scholarly work on LinkedIn.
