Brie received a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Resource Management from Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Natural Resources (MNR) from Oregon State University.

Brie is a Registered Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician (RALAT) through the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS). Brie is responsible for the humane care and use of research animals and for assisting with the oversight of daily operations in the vivarium. She ensures the research animals are cared for and maintained in accordance with the Animal Welfare Regulations, U.S. Department of Agriculture, U.S. Public Health Service Policy on the Humane Care and Use of Laboratory Animals, and the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals. She also serves as a liaison between Academic Affairs and Risk Management and conducts follow-up inspections of laboratory safety inspections and aids principal investigators with compliance.
