Is your child ready for something new this summer? Give them the chance to try new things, spend a lot of time outdoors, make new friends, and work on overcoming challenges!

Adventure Day Camp (Ages 9-11)
Adventure Day Camp includes team-building games, low challenge course, Disc Golf, and the UREC Climbing Wall. Weather permitting, Adventure Day Camp includes four off-campus trips each week such as outdoor rock climbing, a swimming hole hike, canoeing/kayaking on the Shenandoah River, geo-caching, and a trip to Sherando Lake or Todd Lake. Sessions I/III will feature a different schedule from Sessions II/IV. Campers are welcome to sign up for one week, two weeks, three weeks, or all four weeks!

High Adventure Day Camp (Ages 12-14)
There are two High Adventure Camps offered Summer 2018.

The remainder of the days will be spent at different climbing areas in the area primarily in the George Washington National Forest. This camp includes one overnight camping trip on Thursday night at Hone Quarry campground. No prior experience is required.
  • In Whitewater Kayaking camp, kids will learn how to read basic river features, kayaking safety, kayaking strokes, and manuvering in class I/II whitewater. UREC's indoor aquatics center will be used for basic instruction on the first day and in the event of inclement weather. The remainder of the days will be spent on local rivers like the James and Shenandoah.
