Associate Professor of Political Science

Amanda J. Cleveland Teye earned a B.A. degree in Government at Claremont McKenna College and a M.P.A degree at California State University San Bernardino. She recently earned her Ph.D. in Political Science with emphasis on American Politics and Public Policy at Claremont Graduate University in 2010.

Her dissertation entitled, "Rethinking Culture Wars: Religious Rationalism and Orthodox Pluralism in Southern California Charismatic Congregations" examined the role institutional contexts play in the political learning of congregant members. Her continuing research interests are at the intersection of organizational development and politics within religious organizations.

Dr. Teye is a member of the core MPA team at JMU and serves as the coordinator for the Roanoke MPA program. She will be teaching Politics of the Administrative Process, Program Evaluation and Introduction to Public Administration.
