Rob Roberts has been working in digital media for over 20 years in a career that has spanned, government, journalism, advocacy and academics. Currently, he works as a creative and digital consultant working with organizations to better align their digital presence with their communications goals. He has taught classes at the university level in writing and digital media production for more than 10 years.

Rob worked for several years in the Obama Administration, including as Director of Digital Strategy at the U.S. Department of Energy. Previously, Rob worked in disaster relief where he responded to hurricanes, tornados, and floods as well as helping to document the federal response to the World Trade Center attacks. He also worked as a digital and video producer for the Raleigh News and Observer and USA Today where he covered ACC sports, the Duke Lacrosse trial and the 2008 presidential election. His journalism work has been recognized with a number of state and national awards.

Rob's classes focus on creating assignments that mimic real-world scenarios and using group critiques and individual feedback to help students move projects through a robust self-editing process and produce professional-quality work.
