Graduate Assistant

Graduate Assistant, Outreach & Engagement

I currently serve as the Graduate Assistant for Non-Credit Programs. I’ve been with Outreach & Engagement since January of 2016, while also pursuing a Masters of Public Administration here at JMU.  Lately, I’ve been conducting research and completing evaluations for some of our non-credit programs, as well as helping with the planning and facilitation of K-12 summer camps and enrichment programs. Soon, I will begin working with the Life Long Learning Institute on a special project starting in the fall of 2017.

As a fairly recent transplant to the Shenandoah Valley, I love that my work at Outreach & Engagement meaningfully connects me to the greater Harrisonburg community and enables me to play a role in expanding the educational opportunities available to both children and older adults alike. It’s truly a blessing to live in a town where you can spot former Space Explorers campers perusing the selection of baked goods at the Farmer’s Market.

When not at work or school, I enjoy taking long walks with my fiancé through Old Town, fawning over wrap-around porches and finding neighborhood dogs to pet.
