JMU students sitting on the quad

This event is open to JMU students, faculty, and staff.

Location: UREC Sports Forum 2

Date and time: Wednesday March 25, 2020 (3 pm - 5 pm)

Event Description: JMU students, faculty, and staff are welcome to learn how to play goalball and try their skills at wheelchair basketball!

Goalball is a team sport designed for athletes with visual impairments. During this drop-in event, all players wear eyeshades as they focus on their other senses to throw a ball that has bells embedded in it into their opponent’s goal to score points.

You’re also welcome to come and play a wheelchair basketball pick-up game while you wait for a turn at goalball or just for fun!

No prior experience is required for either of the activities and all fitness levels are welcome. Also, it’s important to note the following: These activities are not constructed as simulation exercises.
