Residential Learning Community for Incoming Sport & Recreation Management Majors

University Recreation

Residential Learning Community

The new Sports & Recreation Management & UREC Residential Learning Community will provide first-year declared Sports & Recreation Management (SRM) majors with a group of students and mentors who share interest in exploring and experiencing sport, recreation and wellness activities and careers.

Students participating in this unique community will take classes together, live in the same residence hall, and participate in co-curricular activities. Students will be enrolled in the same sections of SRM 201 in the Fall semester and SRM 202 in the Spring Semester.

The physical location of the residence hall near UREC will encourage participation and time spent interacting with those in the field and participating in events together – a built-in experiential and support group. Through interacting with UREC and SRM faculty/staff at a wide range of programs throughout the year, students will learn about the various professional directions they can take based on their passions, interests, and skillsets.
