Driver Drive closed for Construction

Driver Drive will close May 2018 through August 2019 due to the University's construction of a land bridge and tunnel.

The land bridge construction project will begin Monday, May 7, 2018. Due to the closure of Driver Drive, the following changes will be made to accessing UREC for the project's duration:

    • The access route to UREC's handicap parking spaces will change (see aerial map). The number of available spots and routes from the handicap spots to the building will be unaffected. 
    • The D8 and Convo G parking lots will be closed for the duration of the project. Please visit JMU Parking's website for additional parking availability. 
    • The access route to the Adventure Center and Cycle Central for pick-up and drop-offs will change (see aerial map). 
    • The drop-off and pick-up location for UREC Youth Programs (Camp UREC, Adventure Camps, and Kids' Night Out) will take place outside exterior Door N (see aerial map).

In addition, Duke Dog Alley and the C9 parking lot will be closed Saturday, June 23rd - Saturday, June 30th.
