Dr. Alan Kirk Invited as Keynote Speaker

Dr. Alan Kirk was invited to be the Keynote speaker at a joint seminar of the Faculties of Theology of Helsinki University and Lund University.  The seminar took place from November 13-15.  The seminar is part of a multi-year series of workshops on cognitive approaches to religion.  The workshops are funded by the NordForsk Research Agency (the funding agency sponsored conjointly by Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and Norway).  The title of Dr. Kirk's presentation was "The Formation of the Synoptic Tradition: Cognitive and Cultural Approaches to an Old Problem."  The Philosophy and Religion Department would like to extend its congratulations to Dr. Kirk for this achievement!
