Break time

Finals are just around the corner and most students are busy with their final projects and assignments. JMU main libraries, Carrier and Rose, will be open 24/7 starting very soon. I personally like both libraries because both have great studying environment. Watching some students studying all day long (and some studying all night) motivates me the most. During the week before finals, students are found nearly everywhere, but I can always find a great spot from where I can see the Blue Ridge and Shenandoah mountains. They offer spectacular scenes which I particularly enjoy during my 3-minute breaks. My break may only be 3-minute long but they allow me to relax, focus more and drive my efficiency.

That said, one the greatest stress reliever that I would urge you to consider is the International Student Association (ISA)’s event called Holi. It is an Indian tradition that is celebrated mostly in the north part of India. The event entails sharing many different powdered bright colors with your friends. I really enjoyed the event and learned from other students about the meaning of the event. I loved the way people interacted with each other, even though they did not know each other before. This highlighted for me JMU’s spirit, by trying to make a difference while at the same time promoting diversity.
