SUMMARY: The Center for International Stabilization and Recovery is proud to introduce the two newest Frasure-Kruzel-Drew Memorial (FKD) Fellows who started their terms at the U.S. Department of State (DoS) this summer. Samantha Golden formerly of Norfolk, Virginia, and Laura Barela of Fairfax, Virginia, are working in Washington, D.C., at the Office of Weapons Removal and Abatement in the DoS’ Bureau of Political-Military Affairs (PM/WRA) to support programs and services that reduce the harmful effects of excess, poorly secured, or otherwise at-risk conventional weapons of war abroad. Golden and Barela are the 29th and 30th recipients respectively of this prestigious fellowship that CISR has facilitated under DoS sponsorship since 1999.
