Julie Rae Powers is a 2012 JMU alumni with her BFA in Studio Art, concentration in photography who will be completing her MFA in photography at The Ohio State University this year. In this exhibition, WW II era military photos of the artist’s paternal grandfather, his brothers, and her maternal grandfather garnered from newspaper clippings and family archives are compared with her self-portraits as a contemporary queer female.   

Co-hosted by OFAR, an artist residency in Harrisonburg, VA focusing on social justice.
