Chris Cornelius Gallery Exhibit

Chris Cornelius' drawings will be shown in a solo exhibition titled, "This is Not a Fairy Tale" at the JMU Duke Hall Gallery of Fine Art.

Exhibit dates: January 11 - February 19, 2016. 

Along with a public gallery talk on Thurs, Jan 21st at 5:00pm, Chris will be at JMU for two days working with undergraduate students in architectural design and graduate students in studio art. 

Chris Cornelius, an enrolled member of the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin, focuses his work on the architectural translation of culture. He is the founding principal of studio:indigenous, a practice that creates design solutions for American Indian clients.

Cornelius, who both attended graduate school and has taught at the University of Virginia, was awarded an Artist-in-Residence Fellowship from the National Museum of the American Indian, Smithsonian Institution, where he created a visual translation of the Oneida cosmology.  www.studioindigenous.com
