Dear JMU Family,
Update on Cases
The university observed 2 new positive cases of COVID-19 at the University Health Center yesterday. With 3 cases considered “recovered,” the total number of active cases is now at 15. The number of open quarantine and isolation beds is 373 out of 391. More information can be found on the university’s Stop the Spread dashboard.
Vaccines are Here
The local Central Shenandoah Health District has moved into Phase 2, which means that vaccines are now available to anyone ages 16 and older.
The Virginia Department of Health website has updated information on available vaccination clinics. If you are in need of either first-dose clinics or second-dose clinics, please register using those links. They will be updated regularly as new clinics become available. Walk-in appointments may be available depending upon vaccine supply.
Exit Testing
Exit testing will be available for students who want to be tested before returning home:
April 27, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Warren Hall - Sign-up is required.
April 28, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Festival - No sign-up is needed.
April 29, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Warren Hall - Sign-up is required.
May 4, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Warren Hall - Sign-up is required.
Testing takes less than 10 minutes, and you do not need to wait for your results. They will be delivered to your phone within 20 minutes of your test. The most current testing information is available on the UHC testing page.
