Important entry testing updates

News

Friday, Jan. 29 and Saturday, Jan. 30
Due to the impending inclement weather, we have added time slots to the existing entry testing appointments for today (Friday) Jan. 29 and Saturday, Jan. 30. We have also expanded our hours of entry testing on Saturday, Jan. 29 to include two extra hours of testing. Testing appointments are now available 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

To schedule an appointment go to Student.JMUTickets.com and choose from the existing time slots.

Sunday, Jan. 31
We are adjusting our testing clinic hours to 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. If you have an appointment from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. you will not need to reschedule your appointment. Your ticket will work at the other times.

We are directly sending this information to all students who have appointments or have yet to schedule.

Arriving Feb. 1 or Feb. 2
If you need to arrive at a later date, we can accommodate you for free testing on Feb. 1 and Feb. 2 at the Union (Warren 502) from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please use the designated links to sign up for a time.

Arriving after Feb. 2
If you need to arrive after Feb. 2, JMU will not be able to provide you with a free test. You will need to complete testing before you move in. You may choose one of the following options:
Option 1: Test at home

  • You must provide written verification of a negative COVID-19 rapid antigen test performed within 24 hours of arrival on campus OR a negative PCR test obtained within 48 hours of arriving on campus. Your written verification of completed test results should include: date and time of test, name, type of test and the result.
  • Bring the test results to Residence Life to be verified.
  • Upon approval, your JACard will be reactivated and you will be able to move in.
  • If you have any questions, please email res-life@jmu.edu.

Option 2: Test through the University Health Center (UHC)

    • You will need to schedule an appointment at UHC. Please call 540-568-6178 to schedule an appointment. We recommend you schedule 72 hours prior to your arrival. Appointment times are limited.
    • This appointment is for testing only, NOT verification of at-home results.
    • You will then proceed to Residence life with your negative results to reactivate your JACard.
