Stanley Ralph Fink

Stanley’s research interests include twentieth-century opera, post-tonal analysis, popular music, and minimalism. He has a forthcoming chapter on an innovative approach to form in pop songs written and/or produced by Max Martin in Musical Waves: West Coast Perspectives of Pitch, Narrative, and Form.

Stanley has presented his research at both national and regional conferences, including the Society for American Music, the Music Theory Society of the Mid-Atlantic, Music Theory Midwest, the West Coast Conference of Music Theory and Analysis, and the South Central Society for Music Theory. From 2017–2020, Stanley served as co-chair for the Music Theory Forum at Florida State University. In the Fall of 2020, Stanley will join the Society for Music Theory’s Development Committee. An active pianist, Stanley has served as répétiteur for the Princeton Festival’s opera productions since 2011.
