Julio Agustin is an associate professor of musical theatre at James Madison University. He has performed in six Broadway shows (Chicago, Fosse, Steel Pier) and runs a monthly audition studio in New York City, The Transition Workshop (JulioAgustin.com). His book The Professional Actor’s Handbook was released in February 2017 and is available through Rowman and Littlefield. He recently presented a paper at the ATINER conference in Athens, Greece, entitled "Diversity in the Traditional Musical" and is an advocate for increasing opportunities on stage and screen for underrepresented communities. Julio was born in the Bronx to Puerto Rican parents.
