EmpowHER is an event series that aims to provide resistance training programming designed for JMU women (students, faculty, and staff) and the opportunity to experience the weight room in a comfortable, educational, and open setting. The goal of EmpowHER is to provide relevant knowledge and tools needed to develop confidence in incorporating weight training into your own training plan.

Spring 2022 Program:

Our EmpowHER team is excited to take on the fall semester by offering a series of programs to teach you all about different exercises in the fitness world, implementing workouts at home, and how to reach individual fitness goals! These programs will include the use of resistance bands, kettlebells, dumbbells, Olympic lifting, and much more. We will be returning to in- person programs this semester while following CDC and JMU guidelines for the safety of all participants. 

Program Dates

The EmpowHER program will run weekly on Thursdays, February 24th-April 28th (with the exception of March 17th - University closed). Sessions will be held from 5:30-6:30pm in Godwin Hall room 116 (subject to change).
