Full Admission to IA occurs after Fall Year 2. The top students (based on their grades in IA 200, IA 240, and IA 261) will be invited to continue. (A minimum grade of “C” is required in all of thee three courses, but higher will likely be needed to be among those chosen. Ties will be broken by grades in one’s statistics class.

  • Concentration courses should be taken from the approved lists for either National Security Intelligence or Competitive Intelligence.

  • Courses in elective area are up to students’ discretion. However, students are encouraged to select courses that form a unit that will make them competitive for their desired future employers. 

  • ISAT 251 or Math 220 (statistics) is a required part of the curriculum.

  • Study abroad is optional but strongly recommended for those with a language/regional specialty between sophomore and junior year.

  • An internship with an intelligence agency or private business is optional but strongly recommended between junior and senior year.

During year one, students take general education courses, 15 credits in the fall and 15 credits in the spring.
