Participation in any part of this program that would interfere with your workday or responsibilities should be first approved by your supervisor.
About the Program
The Passport Program is designed to help you make connections on campus and enjoy all the amenties and perks that JMU has to offer to its employees. After completing the passport program, you should feel more connected to campus, more knowledgeable in your role, more comfortable collaborating with people outside of your department, and happier to be a Duke at Work at James Madison University!
The tiers are made up of tasks for you to complete. Tier One tasks should be the easiest group of tasks to complete, while Tier Five tasks may be the hardest, but none of the tiers should be overly difficult. Each time you compete a tier, you win a prize. You must complete all tasks in a tier to win the prizes advertised. With each tier, the prizes become more valuable. You are limited to one prize per tier of your choice.
No. You must start with tier one, then after finishing tier one, go to tier two, then tier three, and so on.
Each task's location has a QR code for you to scan. After scanning the QR code, you will be brought to a page that will allow you to mark the task complete and add a photo of yourself at the location (if desired).
Each QR code will be posted and clearly labeled "Passport Program" at each location. Go to the location map to find out where the QR code is posted for each task.

You win tier prizes for completing all of the tasks in a tier. Each tier has different prizes. Complete all tier one tasks and you get a tier one prize, complete all tier two tasks, a tier two prize, and so on. You get to choose one prize from each tier after completion.

Onboarding in HR will be tracking your progress. After you complete a tier, they will reach out to you via email, requesting that you choose a prize from the options available.
Your prize will be delivered to you via intercampus mail or email (if electronic).
We anticipate the program taking about a year to complete, but the speed at which you move from tier to tier is up to you.
Congratulations! Along with winning the last and most valuable prize, you will be scheduled to attend the yearly One Year Celebration! This event is for all those who have completed the passport program, and is typically held in February. At this event, meet others who have made the same achievements, enjoy good food and live music, enter in your name for a chance to win a door prize, play games, and participate in activities! This event is supposed to be a good time to celebrate your committment and achievement. You will be compensated for the time spent at the event as it is typically held during the workday.
