JMU School Psychology Program, Ed. S. (Education Specialist) candidate

BS – Virginia Tech in Psychology

From Winchester, Virginia

Aleksa enjoys meeting JMU students through Reflections because it offers her an opportunity to have meaningful one-on-one conversations with students where they can discuss their values and the role that alcohol or cannabis may or may not have in those. She loves that due to the confidential, non-judgmental aspect of the program, students can be really honest with themselves and it offers them a safe space to be authentically them as they discuss and deliberate how they want substances to fit in their life. Aleksa appreciates when a student is able to be open with her as it has allowed for some powerful and rewarding exchanges.

In her free time, Aleksa enjoys cooking, learning, spending time with her dog and traveling.
