The Graduate School Global Opportunity Scholarship

The global opportunity scholarship is designed to provide support for students who participate in graduate-level study abroad experiences, including, but not limited to, short-term and residential graduate programs at JMU, internship and field placements outside the United States, and conducting research outside the United States. Note: Students presenting at conferences outside the United States are not eligible for this award; instead, those students should apply for international travel support through The Graduate School’s Travel Grant Program.

To apply, students must complete an application through the Office of International Program’s online system. Contact grad@jmu.edu with questions. Click the Apply Now button to begin your application. The deadline to apply is November 1st.

Eligibility


  • Graduate students who are currently enrolled and in good standing at James Madison University.
  • Students must be participating in a JMU-affiliated global experience and receiving JMU course credit for that work, this may include thesis, dissertation, and internship credits.
