Eye Gaze Shown to be an Effective Strategy to Identify Preference

Behavior Specialist

A preference assessment is a process used to identify preferred items that may be used as reinforcer to support the acquisition of skills for individuals with disabilities or can be used to differentiate preference. One approach to identifying preferred items is to use an eye gaze preference assessment. The purpose of this review is to identify the application of eye gaze preference assessment as well as the various characteristics of those assessments in the research literature. We identified 18 articles that used eye gaze to identify preferred items.
