French Language and Literature

Why French?

French is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world. For even more reasons why you should make the French language part of your life, read this great Business Insider article. And if perhaps you still need convincing, please watch this Columbia University roundtable discussion on Why French Matters.

Want to practice your French? Come to Pause-Café!

"In France we have a saying, 'Joie de vivre,' which actually doesn't exist in the English language. It means looking at your life as something that is to be taken with great pleasure and enjoy it." - Mireille Guiliano

The Pause-Café provides a wonderful opportunity for students to practice their French outside of the classroom. Weekly meetings take place Wednesday afternoons from 3-4 PM on the first floor of the Student Success Center.
