The mission for the JMU Department of Foreign Languages, Literatures, and Cultures is to advance understanding, promote racial equity, and drive change in pursuit of a more just world. We promote diversity, equity, and inclusion as our department's core values. As we strive to be a welcoming community where global cultures, languages, and communities are celebrated, we continuously remind ourselves of the responsibilities that we have to our faculty, students, and the community.
