“Electrifying… wildly colorful and exploding with life.”

The Washington Post

Hailed by The New York Times at its sold-out Carnegie Hall debut as “invariably energetic and finely burnished… playing with earthy vigor,” Catalyst Quartet strives to advance diversity in classical music with dynamic performances of cutting-edge repertoire by a wide range of composers. Known for its “relentless rhythmic force, polyphonic clarity and tight ensemble-playing,” the quartet has toured throughout the United States and abroad. Members are top laureates and alumni of the internationally acclaimed Sphinx Competition for young black and Latino classical musicians. This evening features works by Latin American composers of the 20th and 21st centuries, including Villa-Lobos, Ginastera, Piazzolla, Golijov and Frank—and will be “nothing short of fantastic.” (Lincoln Journal Star)  www.catalystquartet.com
