Pianist/composer Frank Kimbrough has been active on New York’s jazz scene for 35 years. He has been the pianist for the Grammy-winning Maria Schneider Orchestra since 1993 and was a founding member of the Jazz Composers Collective (1992-2005), where he performed and recorded with high-profile ensembles ranging from duos to big bands. Kimbrough has recorded 20 CDs as a leader and 70 more as a sideman. His solo piano album, Air, earned him high praise from AllAboutJazz.com: “Kimbrough is a deep thinker and gifted storyteller. His notes and expressions stick in the mind and tug at the soul.” Kimbrough serves on the jazz studies faculty at The Juilliard School, a position he has held since 2008.
