Tue, 27 Oct 2020 1:30 PM - 4:00 PM

Location: Wine-Price Building

Writing content to promote what your department is doing is easier when you are familiar with how people read websites. Come to this workshop to hear from two campus experts about how to phrase things and use meaningful visuals so that your content is read rather than ignored. This workshop is about creating good content for the Cascade website software AND for any materials you might use to inform others about your programs and work.

In this workshop participants will gain:

  • Increased knowledge of basic photo and graphics editing, content development and web maintenance
  • Knowledge of the basics of web design theory and the psychology of how readers scan websites
  • Ability to identify what makes an effective web photo or graphic and edit it using simple Photoshop functions
  • Understanding of the difference in writing for the web and traditional media and the ability to create appropriate text for websites
