FORUM: Getting U.S. Politics Back on Track

Thu, 22 Feb 2018 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM

Join other members of the JMU community for a discussion and deliberation on the topic ‘How do we get American politics back on track?’  Participants will work in small groups with a trained ICAD@JMU facilitator to deliberate three unique but overlapping ideas for answering this important question, seeking understanding of different perspectives on governing and governance:

  • Breaking the grip of special interests;
  • Increasing individual responsibilities; and,
  • Fixing the mechanisms of government.

Thursday, February 22nd

Madison Union, 4th floor

This deliberative forum is part of the 2018 symposium on political polarization and civil discourse sponsored by JMU's School of Public and International Affairs. It is co-sponsored by JMU's Institute for Constructive Advocacy and Dialogue (ICAD).
