Poetry Without Boundaries - Collegiate Summit

Thu, 22 Mar 2018 6:00 PM - Sat, 24 Mar 2018 3:00 PM

Every other year, we bring top-tier writers to JMU to present workshops for undergraduate and graduate students, who travel from all over the United States to attend. This spring, we deliver our fourth Collegiate Summit on the JMU campus: “Poetry Without Boundaries,” featuring Pulitzer Prize-winner Tyehimba Jess, Brenda Marie Osbey, the former Poet Laureate of Louisiana, and Anastacia-Renee, the Civic Poet of Seattle.

From March 22-24, undergraduate and graduate students from around the country will gather to explore how poetry reaches across geographical borders and beyond conventional literary and ideological boundaries as three outstanding poets explore this topic in workshops and readings that take place over three days.
