Intercultural Education Working Group (Online Community)

In collaboration with the CGE, the CFI will co-facilitate an intercultural education working group this summer to better understand faculty professional development opportunities to increase cultural competency in the classroom. This working group will develop recommendations informing the CFI and CGE on ways to prepare faculty to relate authentically to those with different background experiences or worldviews. Summer stipend available for 10-month instructional faculty.

Faculty participants will make progress toward these program outcomes:

  • Understanding the impact of cultural competency on the classroom environment
  • Developing recommendations for creating inclusive learning environments
  • Reflecting on their level of cultural competency and how it influences interactions with students
