Are you 5-10 years into your academic professional career? Are you interested in boosting your career by reframing it with feedback from colleagues? Are you interested in participating in creating an environment of curiosity and inquiry about yourself, others, and what could be possible? Come join us for one or more sessions on taking a developmental approach to reframing the academic mid-career. The discussions and activities will be structured to help faculty members become whatever sort of teacher, scholar, and/or institutional citizen they wish to be.

  • Session 1:  Snapshot of “Now” to Remember Your “Why” — This session is centered on acknowledging where faculty might be in their career while helping them to remember what drew them to academia in the first place. Look back to project forward to see what remains. Tue 2/1, 2:30-4:00 PM.
  • Session 2:  Finding Your Helpers — This session allows faculty time to visualize their professional network. The activities will provide a way to visualize their supporting relationships, to reflect, and to recognize needs for the future. Tue 2/8, 2:30-4:00 PM.
  • Session 3:  What sort of institutional citizen do I wish to be?  — This session empowers faculty to explore the possibilities of what could be for their career moving forward while receiving practical and imaginative help from colleagues. Tue 2/15, 2:30-4:00 PM.
  • Session 4:  Choose Your Adventure — This session provides faculty with momentum to make something happen by discovering and focusing on what they have freedom and resources to do now. Faculty will be able to reveal the actions, however small, that may promote change. Shifting a few grains of sand may prompt a landslide and change the whole landscape. Tue 2/22, 2:30-4:00 PM.

All sessions will take place on Zoom, you may choose to attend any or all sessions.
