Teaching Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (Online Roundtable)

Given recent publicity and controversy around teaching Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion content or courses, many faculty and staff may be feeling on edge. This roundtable provides an opportunity for conversation and collaboration between faculty and staff teaching JEDI content in a wide range of disciplines and areas on campus. In particular, the roundtable provides space for participants to share experiences, to brainstorm ideas for addressing challenges and embracing opportunities, and to prioritize a culture of care around teaching urgent JEDI issues.

Facilitated by: 

Faculty participants will make progress toward these program outcomes:

  • Sharing and processing experiences around teaching JEDI content;
  • Collaboratively addressing challenges and embracing opportunities; and
  • Developing strategies for creating a culture of care around teaching JEDI.

Faculty Participants will make progess toward these teaching outcomes:

  • Identifying factors that influence pedagogical choices; and
  • Integrating knowledge of student development models in teaching philosophies and practice.
