The publishing process can mystify new and experienced scholars alike.  In this CFI roundtable, facilitators will look to “demystify” issues related to publishing journal articles in peer reviewed journals.  Three knowledgeable facilitators, Dr. Melanie Shoffner, editor of English Education, Dr. Cathryn Molloy, incoming co-editor of  Rhetoric of Health and Medicine, and Dr. Charles Bailey, editor of Behavioral Research in Accounting, will offer their “top 3” insights regarding  the journal article publication process in the beginning of the event, followed by an invitation for dialogue with the audience.  Dr. Ed Brantmeier, incoming editor for the Journal of Peace Education, will act as moderator of the conversation.

Faculty participants will make progress toward this program outcome:

  • Exploring the journal article publication process with editors from diverse journals.

Faculty participants will make progress toward these scholarship outcomes:

  • Appreciating the diverse forms, purposes, and communication modes of scholarship in higher education;
  • Enhancing scholarly productivity; and
  • Advancing scholarly skills.
