Madison Fellowship: Integrating Administrative Leadership Into Your Career Plans (Faculty Community)

Group will meet on Wednesdays; 9/19, 10/3, 10/17, 10/31, 11/14, 11/28, from 3:30-5 PM in SSC room 4049.

Application deadline extended until Fri, 14 Sept at 3 PM. 

The pathways to potential administrative leadership careers are often unclear for faculty whose professional activities typically revolve around teaching, scholarship and service. This Madison Fellowship explores strategies for integrating future leadership roles into faculty career plans. Faculty who complete this fellowship will develop a plan, including finding a mentor, for a potential future position in administrative leadership.

Faculty participants will make progress toward these program outcomes:

  • Identifying strategies pursuing a career in administrative leadership; and
  • Identify an appropriate mentor and make plans to initiate a mentoring relationship.

Faculty participants will make progress toward these career planning outcomes:

  • Appreciating the place and purpose of comprehensive career planning in academic careers;
  • Creating a comprehensive career plan with a meaningful, measurable goals for professional advancement;
  • Identifying and implementing effective strategies for career advancement; and
  • Developing and fostering productive mentoring and networking relationships.
