They are reminders
created when a Flag is applied to an email message.
To Do’s are different than tasks in Outlook.
an item that appears in several places in Outlook, depending on the Views you have set.
You can see the To Do list on the Task Pane,
on the Daily To Do Bar in Mail or Calendar View,
and on the Daily Task List of the Calendar for the week.
Flag To Do’s are DIFFERENT because
they are an extension of the original email message,
with the Due Date set by the type of flag applied.
Since they are connected to the message,
when you delete the message
you delete the To Do.
people who view the mailbox,
which is great if everyone needs to monitor what needs done,
but not useful if the To Do’s are meant for a specific person.
by Clicking the Flag icon that appears right of the message summary in the View Pane.
If you want a timeframe different than the Quick Click Flag, simply Right Click on the Flag Icon and choose a different timetable.
you can Right-click the flag beside the message and navigate to the bottom where it says Set Quick Click
or use the drop-down on the Ribbon beside follow-up.
A Dialog box opens,
Use the drop-down to select the preferred Quick Click
and then Click OK to keep the change.
while in the message,
click the Follow-up drop-down arrow and choose a flag.
The flag is for the Sender and shows in the Sender's To Do list. The recipient does not see it.
go to the Sent Items folder and click or right click the flag icon
that appears when you hover to the right of the message in the View pane.
This flag is for the Sender, not the recipient.
because both tools are useful when they meet your tracking needs.
I look forward to seeing you in Training.
