Named Greater Washington Entrepreneur of the Year and National Finalist in 2003 by Ernst and Young, David was one of the founders of Capital Automotive, a $4 Billion NASDAQ listed automotive retail real estate company and the largest owner of automotive dealership real estate.  He was also the President and CEO of American Realty Capital Properties, the world’s largest largest net lease real estate company which is listed on the NYSE.  With nearly 20 years of commercial real estate and residential experience, David brings expertise in project management, construction design, and leadership.

While developing his first real estate company, David developed his expertise in site location and finance while observing many ground up construction projects with a keen focus on project design and construction layout. 

David has worked alongside some of the most respected designers and architects in the business.  He has personally curated the interior design in all of his homes, two of which have been featured in top magazines such as Home & Design.

In his spare time David serves as a member of the Executive Advisory Board of the Business School and Center for Entrepreneurship at James Madison University.  He also remains active having participated in more than 50 marathons, ultra marathons, and Ironmans.  He is an active philanthropist, devoting his time to many charitable foundations and organizations in the greater Washington Metro area.  David currently lives in Loudon County with his two children, two dogs, and livestock.
