Mission Statement:
The main purpose of the Regional Center "Together" is to protect and improve the psychosocial well-being of children affected by war and by social adversities in South-Eastern Europe. Slovenia has an important role in the stabilization of the region and the protection of children's rights. The Regional Cenre "Together" was established by the Slovene Government, the City of Ljubljana and the NGO Slovene Philanthropy with the aim to mobilize Slovenia's capacities for providing assistance to countries of South-Eastern Europe, to guarantee an optimal future for children and to contribute, through children-focused activities, to the stability in the region. The basic principle of the activities of the Centre is to strengthen local structures such as institutions, organizations and NGOs in the field of child care, as well as to develop models of psycho-social protection and empowerment of children, which will remain after foreign assistance has withdrawn. The activities will be based on the identified local needs, domestic experience and knowledge and on the experience of Slovene Philanthropy, which has already developed numerous efficient psychosocial programs for war-affected childrem in the territory of the former Yugoslavia, in the Causcasus area and other regions.
