Nov 17–to date Weapons and Ammunition Management Team, TDI Ltd, South Sudan

 

Member of a 3-man team in the capacity of an Ammunition Technical Officer providing advice on the improvement of existing or new ammunition storage requirements.  This task resulted in the inspection 79 Troop Contributing Country (TCC) ammunition holdings and storage areas in 16 locations within South Sudan. 13 of the 79 units have been identified for improvements in their ammunition storage areas due to grave risk of death if an unplanned explosive event was to happen. Follow up visits conducted to provide advice on the improvements required to reduce the risk from unplanned explosions.

During storage inspections the ammunition holdings were inspected and 3.71 million ammunition items were classified as shelf life expired and deemed unserviceable.

Conducted training to 289 TCCs soldiers from 40 units on ammunition storage and management.

 

Nov 15–Nov 17 IT Project Manager

FDM Group, Drax Power Limited, Drax, Nr Selby

 

PM handling change on live issues on systems relating to trading and risk, fuel and logistics, plus asset management, finances and human resources.

Managed a project delivering small change across a range of business work streams.  Required management of 15 personnel in multiple skilled teams and disparate stakeholders across a matrix organised structure. Utilising a blend of iterative and waterfall processes for delivery.

Led in the delivery of a project that provided packages of changes to a Maximo (Enterprise Asset Management) system. Managing a team of 8, utilising internal and external resources.  The project was delivered through the full service delivery life cycle.

Successfully delivered a project in the delivery of Maximo small changes using Agile methodology.  Managed a team of 10 personnel and controlled all the required meetings that underpin the Agile delivery framework.  Stakeholder engagement was key to the smooth delivery of the changes which has enhanced the IT / business relationship at Drax.

Led a project in Liverpool to replace and upgrade an existing Sage 200 system and implement Sage CRM.  Management of an internal IT team and business stakeholders located in two locations and an external vendor required dynamic stakeholder management.

 

Military Service

 

2014–2015 Major, RLC, Senior Role

Defence School of Transport

 

Led a 110 strong multi-disciplined civilian and military workforce enabling the delivery of Operational and nationally strategic driver training.

Provided the support and welfare facilities for 250 Military and 600 Civilian staff and 15,000 students annually.

Led in the delivery of support facilities building in resilience to procedures.  Managing change and the continued development of robust systems.

 

2012–2014 Programme Manager

Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S), Abbeywood

 

In charge of rationalising worldwide ammunition stock holdings and finding efficiencies for Army, Navy and RAF customers.

Conducted rationalisation of stock holdings, enabling the release of over millions in savings to the business.

Managed resources worth in excess 1 billion, providing technical expertise and support to the ammunition acquisition process.

Provided quality assurance on the stock holdings and ensuring risk mitigation between project managers and the three services.

Provided in depth support and future direction to the Ministry of Defence HQ on ammunition resources, this resulted in a clear plan of replacement and stock management for the next 20 years.

Ensured that Worldwide Operational Effectiveness was maintained through careful resource planning, maintenance and servicing.

 

2009–2012 Operations Officer and Quartermaster

11 Explosive Ordnance Disposal Regiment, RLC

 

Managed the provision of logistic support and governance to an Operational Bomb Disposal Squadron providing support to the civil powers covering Northern England and Scotland.

Led 120 strong Logistic Squadron on mainland Bomb Disposal and National Level Security Operations.

Planned and coordinated the support to the Olympics for Operational Bomb Disposal covering the North of Britain.

Ensured the efficient availability of Squadron personnel to support operations, through detailed planning and movement of manpower resources when required.

Turned around a failing multi-million pound logistic department. Through the implementation of a robust inspection routine with proven results.

Managed career development of personnel; identified talent, ensured key positions in succession plan filled and individual aspirations met, achieved the promotion for in excess of 10% of my subordinates.

Received Formal Executive Commendations for work with injured soldiers/families and charitable work.

 

2006–2009 Unit Welfare Officer

8 Regiment, Royal Logistic Corps (RLC)

 

Provided welfare support and assistance to over 650 soldiers and their families.

Represented the forces across a number of national welfare agencies  as a resulted was shortlisted for Army Welfare Office of the Year.

Project managed the logistical move of 85 families from the UK to Germany.

Project managed the re-development of two community centres. Accessed specialist funding lines and maintained stakeholder involvement.

 

Previous experience.

 

Lead systems analyst for the RLC, managing 2 service delivery teams providing 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support to logistic information systems worldwide.

13 years experience as an Ammunition Technician.

8 years with 11 EOD Regt RLC as a No1 EOD operator, Advanced IEDD qualified.

2 years with Allied Command Europe Mobile Force, conducted numerous deployments in hot and cold environments conducting ammunition field storage.

3 years at Central Ammunition Depot Kineton, conducting ammunition repair and storage tasks. Member of the land service ammunition demolition department for 1 year completing demolition activities.
