L.PZ.MIanti-tank mineThe Old German light antitank mine L.PZ.MI is a metallic mine that was employed against both personnel and lightly armored vehicles. The mine is cylindrical with a raised central cap covering a safety screw. Five fuze bolts and three body bolts protrude through the mine body. Pressure on the mine crushes the body, exerting pressure on one or more of the fuze housings and forcing plungers upward. As the plunger moves upward, it compresses the outer spring, releases locking balls, and frees the striker. The striker driven by the striker spring explodes a percussion cap. Flame from the cap travels through a radial flame tube to the central flame chamber igniting the detonator, booster, and main explosive charge.Diameter: 266mm Weight: 4.1kg Explosive: 2.2kg Range: 400m Explosive/filler type: TNTGermany
