Innovation Leader

Sophie Harrison is a junior undergraduate student in the School of Music at James Madison University, with a major in music education and a minor in jazz studies. Sophie is an active facilitator in JMUke, and has interned with the Harrisonburg High School jazz band and JMU’s New Horizons Band. One of her favorite experiences has been playing and writing music with residents of Gemeinschaft home, an opportunity she experienced through her music education coursework. Currently, Sophie is facilitating a Music and Songwriting class in Bon Air Correctional Center (Richmond, VA). In addition to her work in CIME, Sophie serves as vice-president of JMU's chapter of National Association for Music Education - Collegiate.
